Requirements to Run for Office
- MUST ATTEND CLASS REGULARLY: Class connect sessions, Study Island and OLS progress must come first as this is an extra activity, aimed at expanding your knowledge of the US Government system
-MUST PARTICIPATE IN CLASS REGULARLY: Must be an active listener and participant in class connect sesssions, willing to answer questions, raises thier hand when asked, comes to class ready and prepared to learn
-MUST COMPLETE INITIAL SURVEY: this survey will be sent out on October 7th following class; if you do not complete this survey by Friday, Oct. 13th, you are not eligible to run for office
-MUST TURN IN AN ELECTION POSTER: you may use any software to complete this activity but must be completed by Friday, Oct.13th and sent to Mrs.Watkins

Steps for Running for Office
1. Complete Election Candidate Survey- DUE BY Thursday, OCT.13th
2. Turn In Election Poster- DUE BY Thursday, OCT.13th
3. Write your platform- (must be at least 1 paragraph, typed using 14pt font) What do you believe in? Why do you think you will be a good class president? What do you promise to do for the class? How will you make our class better?
4. Create a Campaign Speech Video : (NO MORE than 3 min.) Introduce yourself, tell why you are the best candidate for office, this will be available for students to view on the Weebly site (DUE BY OCT.17TH)
5. MUST BE PRESENT for Class Election Day- OCTOBER 25th

Offices Available:
President- will be class moderator on Monday & Wednesdays, allowed to have white board privileges, helps with keeping white board cleaned off and other daily classroom task
Vice President- will be given moderator privileges on Tuesday & Thursdays or if president is unavailable, may also helps with whiteboard duties
Secretary- will keep up with the amount of students in class each day, reminds teacher of class recording, notifies the teacher by chat if students are using chat inappropriately, keeps a record of game suggestions
